Long break...

If you have read my other blog, you know that I've been out for a few weeks. I just couldn't keep up with everything, and something had to give. Unfortunately it was my workouts and blogging. But it was a much needed break.....I'm finally getting caught up on everything, and am feeling a renewed motivation to get back to my workouts, full force! :) After all, Spring will be here before we know it! :) Woo-Hoo!!!! I LOVE Spring. It felt like Spring here on Friday. It was 78 degrees and BEAUTIFUL! Of course then a cold front blew in and we were only in the 30's yesterday...Texas weather...gotta love it! :) (Hopefully Kate was able to enjoy the beautiful weather on Friday...I was hoping it would be nice and warm while she was down here visiting her family).

For those of you Biggest Loser fanatics. Can you believe they kept Joelle on Tuesday? I was flabbergasted! (I'm so ready for her to be gone...can't stand her!) I just knew they would be shipping her home. But I think they were on the lines of "game play" knowing she couldn't last anyway, so get rid of the bigger threat. Who knows. But it is turning out to be a GREAT Season! :)

Ok, I've got to get my rear in gear, so I can squeeze in a workout before needing to get ready to take Levi for basketball pictures. Later!

The Biggest Loser Latest.....

BL Fans must read this: click here

Funny; to brighten your day.

I have received and read this e-mail, multiple times. Every time I read it though, I can't help but laugh. It is hilarious. Hope you enjoy it. :)

A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM
If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to women (even some guys)everywhere who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine.

Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me. Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 48 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear. My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started and encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.

MONDAY: Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Belinda waiting for me. She is something of a Greek goddess - with blonde hair, dancing green eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Before long I assume I'll resemble Belinda. Belinda gave me a tour and showed me the machines. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which she conducted her aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring! Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time she was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week-!!

TUESDAY: I drank a whole pot of coffee and I finally made it out the door. Belinda made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then she put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Belinda's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT-!! It's a whole new life for me.

WEDNESDAY: The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop, so I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Belinda was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. Her voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when she scolds, she gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put me on the stair monster. Why the Hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Belinda told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. She said some other crap too.

THURSDAY : Belinda was waiting for me with her vampire-like teeth exposed as her thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late, it took me that long to tie my shoes. Belinda took me to work out with dumbbells. When she was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom. She sent another skinny b**** to find me. Then, as punishment, she put me on the rowing machine -- which I sank.

FRIDAY : I hate that b***** Belinda more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic, anorexic little tramp. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat her with it. Belinda wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the stupid barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?

SATURDAY : Belinda left a message on my answering machine in her grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing her made me want to smash the machine with my planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.

SUNDAY : I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my daughter (the little s***) will choose a gift for me that is fun--like a root canal or a hysterectomy. I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds.

Biggest Loser Talk.....

Did you want the first NEW episode last night?! I can tell this is going to be another really GREAT season. They changed the show up, yet again.....

Down, Down, Down....

Woo-hoo, the weight is coming back down!
The great news is that most of what I gained over the holidays was apparently due to retaining water and constipation (due to traveling so much, and eating things I don't normally eat). Now that we are back home, and back into our normal routine, the weight is falling off.

Today the scale said 126.6! Yippy!!!! I'm getting closer to my "normal" weight each day. Normally I do NOT weight myself everyday. But I could tell my stomach had gone down some more, and I couldn't resist a sneak peek at the scale. :) I was thrilled!

Sore today, Yea!!!!

This 30-day Shred DVD is great. I could barely get out of bed this morning after doing level 1 (20 minute interval training) yesterday. I used 8 lb hand weights with it, and should have probably used 5 lbs. (I normally lift 15 lb and 30 lb dumb-bells, so I figured I would be ok...boy was I wrong! LOL!)
It feels so good to be back into my normal routine, and back to my daily workouts and healthy eating.

I came across a fitness tip this morning that was really great: Slow down and savor every bite of your meals. We all know that it takes at least 20 minutes for our stomach to signal our brain that we are full. If we eat in front of the TV or while reading a book we are conscious of how much we are eating, and tend to eat more.
Here are some tips on how to slow down during meal time:
-Put your fork down between eat bite.
-Take a drink of water between bites
-Take smaller bites, and savor the flavors
-Try eating with your opposite hand, or with chop-sticks. (this would definitely slow me down! LOL!)

Jen, I followed your lead and took my measurements and weight this morning, to see exactly where I'm at: Rib Cage 29 1/4, Waist 28 1/2, Hips 34 1/2, Around Booty 36 1/4, Lft and Rt Thigh 21 1/2, and 21 1/4, Lft and Rt arm flexed 11 1/2. Weight: 128.4

Happy New Year!

I hope you all are excited about this year ahead of us. I know I am glad to have the holiday's behind me. I enjoyed them a little to much. We were out of town for over a week, and I gave in and ate things I wouldn't normally eat. This holiday season I gained 7 lbs! Yikes! We are now back home and back to our normal schedules though, so the weight is coming off again, Yea! I've already lost 2 lbs since being home. Whew. Thank Goodness. It is miserable to have your jeans start feeling tight. I hate that feeling. So I'm looking forward to my daily workouts, eating healthy again, and reaching my goal/normal weight once again.
Oh, and to top this off, The Biggest Loser is starting again tomorrow! Woo-Hoo!!! I love that show. It is so motivational, and inspiring! I get on my elliptical while watching, and the time just flies by. Does it get any better than that?! :)

I almost forgot to tell you! At Christmas, I received the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Workout DVD. Yea! I tried it today, on level 1, and it was TOUGH! (of course I did it with 8 lb handweights which may have been part of the reason it was so hard). I had on my heart rate monitor, and in only 20 minutes, I burned 250 calories! Wowsers!
I also got the Biggest Loser Families Cookbook, and the Biggest Loser Cardio Max, and Body Sculpt DVD's! Woo-Hoo! I can't wait to try them now too.
