Before and After...

Tonight at Run for God, a couple of ladies told me how much my testimony inspired them.  They said they could not imagine that I was ever overweight, and had assumed I was always athletic.  Their comments really touched my heart.  It is amazing to know that we can inspire others, and encourage them to achieve their goals.

So due to those comments.  I decided to share my before/after photos.  These are very embarrassing for me, but if they will help inspire others, I'll put it out there.

BEFORE:
I wish I had some of my photos from elementary school...I was chubby after about the age of 8/9.  I did lose weight at age of 12 (in order to get contacts!) and kept it off for about 2 years, while I played basketball and soft ball in Jr. High...then I started high school and quit sports and gained weight.  Hmmm, you think I would have realized that the sports/being active was what helped me lose/keep the weigh off...guess I'm just a slow learner.

This was at about age 16 (when most people are at their fittest/thinnest..,I was not.)

I think this was around age 17....

And this was a matter of months after we had gotten married, winter of 1996/1997.  I was about 19 here, and could barely squeeze into my jeans.  I gained even more weight after this...from depression, after moving away from my family for the first time.  I can't find any photos though..I think I was so upset with myself, that I didn't allow any photos to be taken of me then..

AFTER:
This was in November 2012, I am 35 years old, have had two babies, and am in the best shape of my life!  Amazing how much diet/exercise/motivation can change a person...on the inside and outside!

Summer 2012

Summer 2012, playing at the park with Seth, after he had gone to work with me.  I love that being healthier and happier allows me to be active with my boys.  I have kept the weight off for 14 years now, and through two pregnancies.  It hasn't been easy, and it is a choice i have to make daily.  But I continue to educate myself, and try to improve everyday.

No matter what your goals are, you CAN achieve them!  Never give up!
Because if I can do it, anyone can.  I believe in you!!
